University of Manchester, Centre for Growth and Business Cycles Research, and Kiel Institute of the World Economy

Wednesday 18 May 2011, 5:00-7:00 PM
American University of Beirut, Agriculture Lecture Hall 102

Seminar Overview

The book, to be published by Princeton University Press, focuses on the externalities associated with public capital and their implications for growth and human welfare in developing countries. Its purpose is threefold. First, it provides an overview of the recent evidence on the different channels (including health, education, and innovation) through which public capital may affect growth. Second, it develops a series of formal analytical models that help to understand how these channels operate. Third, it draws together the policy implications of these models for the design of growth and human development strategies.
